About Souls ‘n Bloom
Where Memory and Love Take Root
Souls ‘n Bloom was never meant to be a “business” in the traditional sense. It was born from love, shaped by loss, and nurtured into something far greater than either of us could have imagined.
We are Rick and Nance — two people who have each walked through the unimaginable. Both of us have lost our life partners, and both of us know the aching silence that follows. In the aftermath, we searched for ways to keep their presence alive — not just in photographs or memories, but in something living, breathing, and growing.

For Nance,
...that path began in the garden. A lifelong artist and landscaper, she found herself drawn to the beauty and resilience of daylilies. Their blooms — vibrant, unique, and returning year after year — felt like a quiet but powerful symbol of love that doesn’t fade. Over the years, she began hybridizing lilies, creating one-of-a-kind varieties, each with its own story, each connected to the people and moments that inspired them.

For Rick,
..his skills were rooted in craftsmanship. At first , Rick’s job was being sure the lilies all had the necessary infrastructure such as a watering source and the raised beds for growing. In addition he created a fenced area where the lilies could grow without fear of animals making a meal of them. He began creating custom, laser-engraved plaques — tributes in each lily purchase that could hold a name, a date, or even sentences too important to forget. When paired with one of Nance’s hybrid lilies, the result was more than a gift. It was a living memorial.
Flowers that live on. Memories that never fade.
What began as a deeply personal act of remembrance for our own loved ones soon became something others asked us to share. Friends, neighbors, and eventually customers from across the country began coming to us — not just for flowers, but for comfort, for connection, and for a way to honor the people and beloved pets who had shaped their lives.

Our Home
...nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, became the heart of Souls ‘n Bloom. It is here, among 4.5 acres of gardens and more than 3,000 varieties of daylilies, that stories take root. Some are stories of loss. Others are stories of joy — a wedding, a new home, an anniversary, a birth. All are stories of love.

A one-of-a-kind creation
Every lily we grow is hybridized with intention, and no two are ever the same. Each plaque is made to last, just like the bond it represents. And every order we prepare is touched by the same care we gave to our own tributes.
Our Promise
This is our story. And it’s why every lily we send into the world carries more than petals and roots. It carries our promise: to help you keep love alive, one bloom at a time.
For us, Souls ‘n Bloom is more than a place. It is a living reminder that love doesn’t end. It grows, changes, and sometimes blooms again in ways we never expected. We believe that whether you are grieving, celebrating, or both, the act of planting something beautiful can be healing. It gives you something to care for, something to look forward to, and something that connects you — year after year — to the people who matter most.
